P4 - 7 Forest School: Building Bridges & Crossing Crocodile Creek
This week at Forest School, Primary 4–7 enjoyed an exciting outdoor learning session all about teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.
We began by reading a lovely story about building a bridge that was strong enough and safe enough to cross. The story encouraged the children to think carefully about what makes structures sturdy and why teamwork and planning are important when solving problems.
After the story, the children were given a challenge: to build a sturdy bridge using natural materials found in the forest area. Working in teams, they explored different ideas, tested materials, and carefully constructed their bridges to make them strong and stable.
The fun continued with a lively game called “Crossing Crocodile Creek.” The children had to work together to cross an imaginary creek safely without being caught by the crocodiles! Lots of laughter, communication, and teamwork were involved as everyone encouraged one another and shared ideas.
