We had a fun morning with Dan from Forest School. We started the morning creating our own bubble blower. We used a saw to cut, a knife peeler to take off the outer bark and a metal peg to remove the inside pith. We used hazel and elder branches to make our wooden bubble blowers. It was great fun trying to blow bubbles of different sizes. After break we created a fire and went stick collecting. We had to find sticks of different sizes and make sure they gave a good snap to prove they were dry for the fire. We used newspaper and had to form it in the shape of a doughnut and filled the inside with cotton fluff. Then we all had the chance to try and use the flint to light the fire. It was quite tricky. Each group had the chance to toast marshmallows and best of all eat them. A really fun morning, enjoyed by all.
